About the Jim Moran Institute

A 1995 contribution from Jim and Jan Moran and JM Family Enterprises established the Jim Moran Institute for Global Entrepreneurship at the Florida State University College of Business with additional support through the years. Since 2011, further enhancements to the Jim Moran Institute and its outreach have been made possible by Jan Moran and The Jim Moran Foundation.

Our Mission

The mission of the Jim Moran Institute for Global Entrepreneurship is to cultivate, train and inspire entrepreneurial leaders through world-class executive education, applied training, public recognition and leading-edge research.

Our Leadership

The Jim Moran Institute comprises a dedicated team of entrepreneurship professionals, academic scholars and staff who foster the entrepreneurship spirit by helping to organize, expand and promote the knowledge and practice of entrepreneurship in such a way as to facilitate new business and further the goals of established businesses.

Our Services

As the challenge of operating and growing a small business becomes increasingly complex, the Jim Moran Institute remains a source of expertise and executive education. For this reason, our focus is on assisting businesses with a minimum of five employees and in business for over three years for little to no cost. Maintaining one of the most extensive small business outreach programs in the nation, the Jim Moran Institute serves small business owners and nonprofit organizations throughout the state of Florida by offering programs, an expert speaker series, and an annual small business leadership conference.

Since the Jim Moran Institute's inception more than 20 years ago, it has served small business communities across Florida. Its commitment to advance entrepreneurship extends to several non-traditional communities as well. Working with Junior Achievement Big Bend, the Jim Moran Institute supports an extensive youth development program aimed at developing future entrepreneurs. In addition, the Jim Moran Institute hosts the widely acclaimed Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Veterans with Disabilities (EBV), an intensive program designed to teach entrepreneurship and small business management to post-9/11 veterans with service-connected disabilities.

Diversity and Inclusion

The Jim Moran Institute for Global Entrepreneurship is committed to cultivating a culture of inclusion and connectedness. We aim to create a workplace that celebrates the diversity of our staff, faculty and the communities we serve.
