Applications Open for 2021 RISE Program
Tallahassee, Fla. — The Jim Moran Institute for Global Entrepreneurship, part of the Florida State University College of Business, is currently accepting applications for the upcoming RISE (Resilience. Innovate. Sustain. Evaluate.) program, a virtual program focused on sustainability that tackles head-on topics such as the financial, operational, strategic planning and communication challenges small businesses are facing during these unprecedented times.
Presented by the Jim Moran Institute for Global Entrepreneurship and the Institute for Veterans and Military Families at Syracuse University (IVMF), RISE is a six-week, bootcamp-style program for military veteran business owners and military family business owners. Participants will walk away with the tools and training needed to continue to pivot and grow their business during these challenging times. Topics include redetermining your company’s business model, content ideation, rebranding for reopening, determining a sustainable growth rate, strategic assessment and more.
Participants will complete 12 sessions throughout the schedule consisting of a mix of live and pre-recorded content delivered by subject matter experts from the Jim Moran Institute, IVMF, Florida State University and Syracuse University. The program will culminate with action plan presentations delivered by the participants to their peers.
To apply for the RISE program, a participant’s small business must be owned and maintained 50% or more by a military veteran or first-degree military family member, have been in business for at least one year and in a position where their business needs to expand or contract. Graduates of other IVMF programs are also eligible to participate.
As a result of the generous support of Jan Moran, her late husband Jim Moran, The Jim Moran Foundation and the IVMF, the RISE program is offered at no cost to participants.
